Our mission is to develop the future leaders, coaches, referees and administrators for the sport of fencing.

Summer Internship For Developing Coaches

We are excited to announce the launch of a paid internship for college and high school fencers during the summer of 2024. This internship will build their skills as fencing coaches, and expose them to the day-to-day running of one of the top fencing clubs in the country.

The internship will run Monday to Friday from June to August. Interns will work approximately 40 hours per week and receive a stipend of $8,000 and free membership at the club. Housing will not be provided, however there are many resources available for reduced cost housing in the city for interns.

Interns will receive direct instruction on principles and technique for coaching, have opportunities to use those skills in small group and one-on-one sessions with students at the club, and learn about the general operations of the club during our most exciting time: camps and summer nationals.

The Coaching Corps is an initiative started by Tim Morehouse Fencing Club. (TMFC)

TMFC is home to World Champions, Olympic Medalists, and top-ranked fencers at all age groups. Founded in 2016 by Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse, the club now supports close to 600 fencers with a staff of over 50 coaches and support team members working across its main facilities in Manhattan, Westchester and Connecticut.

Our Mission is to be the “Champion” of fencing clubs— to be at the forefront of the sport with:

  • The most, and most successful, youth fencers in the country

  • The top college recruitment pool

  • The largest and strongest pipeline of excellent, diverse coaches

As TMFC and the sport continues to grow, we hope to develop new coaches utilizing our Athlete-Coach Development model to support fencing programs at TMFC and across the country.

The Fencing Corps experience will be rewarding, challenging and help you build the foundation for a future in the business of fencing.
